Hey everyone! Just letting you know, if you hadn't seen my blog post earlier, that my new story's up and ready for viewing. It's a one-shot, and a short one for me, at just 4500 or so words. I'm rather proud of it and it's a bit more serious than my more recent, much sillier one-shot, but it's still a calm, peaceful tale of growing up and branching out. I really hope you'll all give it a shot. 
So, years ago there was an author on this site who went by the name RealityCheck. He's since left this site for another site due to disagreements with the mods here, but he was also a frequent blogger. One time, he used this blog to introduce a story idea that he didn't have time to write himself for whoever wanted to use it: an alternate universe where Celestia gave the Elements of Harmony to new ponies after Nightmare
So, if you've checked your feed, 100.5 Part 5 is out. However, I should point out that this chapter was going to likely end up being 20,000+ words if I didn't cut back where I did and publish what I have here and now.
Howdy folks! So, today I've got something special. I'm not sure how many people will be into this, but I think it might be pretty fun. But perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself. So, my illustrator for The Iron Horse, Colby Green, aka "Greenfinger," told me a story recently, and it gave me an idea. It's an amusing little tale that we thought to share with you. So here, in his own words, is that story:
Still not sure how I feel about Thanksgiving. On the one hand, we've got a nightmare for anyone working retail (my heart goes out to you, and just know I'm staying home tomorrow and friday so there's one less customer to worry about), and on the other hand, we've got an expectation to go back to family whose opinions are radically different from my own to celebrate a romanticized story of a pretty damn violent colonization. Okay, so the holiday season is over, and it's a brand new year. With that being said, I'm back home and back to both following up with medical appointments and working on writing.
Chapter 11 is, for the most part, finished, and chapter 12 is largely fleshed out. However, so much of these two play into each other that finishing 12 required rewriting portions of 11, which worked out for the best (I did have some down time while on vacation).
Only one more year until I officially hit Over The Hill, and it's no longer socially acceptable to celebrate birthdays as an affirmation of my advancement rather than a marker of my slow decline. So: Hurrah! I'm not old yet! [1] I've got another full year to make an original fiction sale before I stop being A Potential Up-And-Coming Author and start being That Old Guy Who's Still Trying To Break Into The Market! Okay, so the bad part about having too many stories (like that's even possible) is that I can miss notifications (or forget them by mistake) because, no, I do not get too many (really, detailed!comments and updoots and shit make my day) but there are times when I can get quite a bit (rare) but other times, I sometimes won't get them at all.
